D&D Mechanical & 4WD grew from an idea to reality when Dean and Danny, already workmates and motorsport competitors, teamed up to start a new Automotive Service & Repair business in Goolwa, in December 2005. From humble beginnings in a small shed sharing one hoist, a trolley jack and stands, the business grew steadily and in 2006,with a rapidly increasing client base the decision was made to upgrade and expand the premises at 50 Gardiner St to include extra floor space and a new Reception Area. 2006 also saw an increase in Staff with an Auto Electrician, an Apprentice and Receptionist were added to the D&D Team.
In 2008 it was decided that an even larger more flexible premises was required. A suitable alternate site was located and setup nearby at 54 Gardiner St Goolwa. The new site now accommodates seven hoists plus a dedicated Truck & Heavy Plant Service Bay and has enabled Dean & Danny to provide additional employment opportunities. Four Technicians, a Service Advisor and two Reception Admin Staff now make D & D Mechanical and 4wd an even more efficient and reliable mechanical workshop.
D & D regularly update software and tooling as required to enable the best possible care and ensuring repairs are completed on time often saving the client money with "Accurate Fault Diagnostics" thus minimising downtime.
The larger premises has enabled D & D Mechanical and 4wd to install a Safe T Stop Brake, Steering and Suspension tester. The only such test available on the South Coast and every vehicle that enters the workshop is tested with a printed report provided to the Customer covering all safety aspect maintenance items. D & D staff regularly attend Repco Auto Technical Training to keep abreast of all the current technologies which assist with diagnosis of vehicle faults. Electronic scan equipment and computer based diagnostic tools are required for all current cars, from service reset to diagnosis of check engine lights that periodically appear on the instrument cluster of your vehicle.
